Building a Climate of Belonging
The Department of Educational Psychology recognizes the importance of all backgrounds and differing viewpoints in its educational and training programs and strives to provide an optimal working and learning environment for faculty, staff, and students. This encompasses all backgrounds, including but not limited to age, color, disability status, ethnicity, gender, language, veteran status, national origin, race, religion, sexual or affectional orientation, and socioeconomic status. To this end, the department works to achieve these goals:
To provide educational opportunities to enhance awareness, advocacy, and visibility in the department, on campus, in the surrounding community, and nationally;
To engage students and faculty in ongoing discussions and promote a sense of belonging in research, education, and training;
To support all faculty and students and impart a sense of community;
To recruit and retain faculty that represent our student body; and
To make available information and resources regarding opportunities for student funding.
