1. Core Requirements (18 Hours):

Statistics & Research Design (3 Hours Required)

EDPS 6010 (3) Introduction to Statistics & Research Design

Advanced courses that can substitute for EDPS 6010:

  • EDPS 7010 (3) Quantitative Methods I: Foundations of Inferential Statistics

Assessment & Measurement (3 Hours Required)

EDPS 6300 (3) Introduction to Measurement

Developmental Theory (6 Hours Required)

* Internship in Counseling may be taken for 4 credits (400 instead of 600 hours of supervised work) by licensed educators with three years of full-time teaching experience.

Degree Requirements

The M.Ed. Degree requires that the student complete: (1) Core Requirements (18 Hours); (2) Counseling Theory & Practice Requirements (12 Hours); (3) Specialization Requirements (16-18 Hours) for a total of 48 hours of graduate work (46 hours for educators with 3 or more years of licensed teaching experience); and (4) successfully complete the Master's Comprehensive Exam.
