Confidentiality
Therapy is Confidential*
Your sessions between you and your therapist are private. At the UCMHC, we believe that a healing space is created when clients feel safe to be open and vulnerable, knowing that what is discussed in session will remain private. Your right to confidentiality is protected by ethical standards in our field and by law.
*Please see legal exceptions to confidentiality.
Supervision & Therapy Recordings
As a therapist-in-training, your therapist will regularly consult with their supervisor to ensure they provide quality therapeutic care. To support this process, therapy recordings are required by the clinic. All recordings are securely stored, and your therapy details are never shared outside the UCMHC.
For more information on the supervision process, go to Clinicians in Training.
