Seung-Hee Claire Son has received a University of Utah Research Committee Faculty Fellow Award

During the fellowship, Dr. Son will expand her work on improving at-risk low-income young children's reading and literacy through multiple community experiments. In collaboration with Salt Lake City Public Library, she and her research team will (1) evaluate the impact of preschool reach-out storytime program on low-income children's early literacy, (2) develop and test book access program in  a newly built community library, and (3) develop measures of children's reading engagement and literacy interest and examine them as target outcomes for literacy intervention.
